From UPPER BUCKS, PA., EARLY FRIENDS FAMILIES by Clarence V. Roberts : "Moses
inherited 338 acres of land in Barlbrow (Marlborough) under the wil l of his
grandfather, Bartholomew, Sr. (1718) and in 1729 we find him deedin g away at
least a part of it. In 1740 in Bucks Co., Pa., Moses married Marth a Lester,
dau. of Peter Lester and first wife, Mary Duncalf, but we find no rec ords as to
when they migrated to So. Carolina. But they were probably members of
Fredericksburg MM. The marriage of their youngest dau., Martha, at B ush River
MM the 12th month, 30th day, 1771, stated that her mother was of Berk eley Co.,
and her father deceased. Moses Coppock of Bucks, Pa., and Martha Les ter, of
Bucks, Pa., were married Sept. 22, 1740."

!Niel's father died when he was only 8. He was sometimes called "th e little
homemade boy" because his mother made all his clothes (from carding a nd
spinning the wool on) and knitted his sox and his father made his sho es.
He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Sain ts to
Sweden, leaving just two months after his marriage (from October 1908
to July 1911). One winter he was sent up to the northern most part a lone to
preside over that conference. One girl said of his preaching there , "He don't
stand back of the pulpit, he goes right down in the aisles and he pre aches to
them on both sides when he preaches the gospel." He wrote to Viola , "If all
goes well, these two years will soon pass by, and both you and I wil l be glad
that I came on a mission. When we meet each other, it will be the ha ppiest
reunion of our lives, so let us keep up courage, and realize that i t is a great
blessing to both you and me that I have been called to go into the wo rld to
preach the Gospel." When Pleasant Grove Ward was divided into thre e wards in
1909, Niels was a counselor in the Young Men's for two years and the n became the
president for seven years. He was counselor in the Bishopric from 19 22 to 1929.
He was a member of the Pleasant Grove City Council from 1914 to 1949 . He
served 16 years on the board of directors of the P.G. Irrigation Comp any. He
was a member in the Utah State Legislature in the House of Representa tives
during the 1929 and 1930 sessions. He formed a company with his son s (The
Niels Fugal Construction Company) and they laid water and gas lines . He gave
humorous readings, often with a Swedish accent. He was going to giv e one at a
wedding the night he was hit by a drunk driver and killed. He and Vi ola had
just celebrated their golden wedding anniversary that summer. He tau ght Sunday
School most of his adult life. He was president of the Alpine Schoo l Board at
the time of his death.

Andreas was Lutheran before joining the Mormon Church. He finished s chool
at age 14 and had to go before the Minister and recite his catechism.
Information taken from a book, "Testimonial of Character" of Andrea s Christensen
Fugl of Horby (Sogn) Dronninglund (herred) Hjorring (amt): Born Feb . 21, 1833,
son of Houseman and wife Stine Marie Pedersdatter. Andreas was bor n in
Gudestrup in Horbye parish, christened 17 Mar. 1833, vaccinated Jun e 12, 1836
(by Ussing Dr.) Graduated from school in spring of 1847. Confirme d in the
Understed Church in 1847. Conduct very good. He partook of the sacr ament in
the Understed church. Worked for Niels Bergen who lived in Hestevan g 3 1/2
years. Proved honest and trustworthy. Also worked for Christen Chri stensen
from 1 May 1850 to 1 Nov. 1951. Been trustworthy and partaken of sac rament on
Nov. 1, 1851. His book examined at police station 1 Nov. 1851. Work ed from 1
Nov. 1851 till Nov. 1, 1852 for P. Hon. Served satisfactorily. Work ed for
H.H.S. from Nov. 1, 1852 to Nov. 1, 1853. Well pleased with Mr. Fuga l. (Book
in possession of Mary Fugal Howes.)

born 21 Feb. 1833 at Horby, Den. Migrated 25 Sep. 1868. Farmer. 5' 6" tall,

Andreas immigrated at age 35 (in 1868) in the last company to come ov er the
plains by ox team, and the last to come by sailship. They came ove r on the
sailship, "Emerald Isle."
Andrew Jensen says the emigrants were treated rudely by the ship's of ficers and
crew. 37 died on the ocean trip, mostly from bad water.
Andreas had great physical endurance. He would walk to Salt Lake fro m Pleasant
Grove and back in a day. He loved to dance and would dance the whol e night
through. He liked to do hand springs and jump fences rather than ope n the
gate.
He died at age 61 of a stomach ailment.
