lbs woollen cloth; 40 ells English linen; 1/4 cwt. wrought iron; 7 lb s.
haberdashery."

"Bartholomew Coppock's proposal of marriage to Margaret Yarwood was l aid beforeE
Morley MM, England, at the house of Richard Yearwood, second month, 3 rd day,
1678, and they were married the 4th month, 13th day, of that year. T his
Bartholomew was a first purchaser of land of William Penn, and was ca lled 'of
Saltney' to distinguish him from another Bartholomew who purchased la nd at the
same time, who is designated as 'of High Leigh.' Both of their deed s were
dated in March of 1681.... Both settled in Springfield Township, Che ster Co.,
their land adjoining the township line of Marple. Bartholomew of Sal tney had a
son, Jacob Jonothan, born in 1680, who in 1708 married Jane Owen, dau . of Dr.
Griffith Owen of Philadelphia. He died before his father, and eviden tly lived
in the land where Springfield Meeting house was."
