!Barbara married 1st John Campbell. They had four children: Mary Ann,
Benjamin, Nathaniel, and Margarite Jane, born between 1818 and 1824 in
Tatamagouche, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Death: Renon Wilkerson (Box 188, Mona, UT 84645) went to Spanish For k City
records of deaths and found her death date in a book. There was no m arker for
her grave, but the city has a record of her being buried in Spanish F ork. Her
death record has her birth date as 12 July 1802.
Alternate spellings: Mattatal, Matatall, or Mattatall.
Baptism date from Edith Lamb. Also from TIB record. She had her sea led to
parents 18 Mar 1992 in the Ogden temple.
From HISTORY OF TATAMAGOUCHE by Frank H. Patterson, Call #0982355: "I n the year
1771 or 1772 about eleven settlers arrived at Tatamagouche from Lunen burg.
They were..., George Mattatall..., who settled where the village no w stands."
(page 25) "With George Mattatall came also his mother, old Mrs. Mata tall, who
had formerly been a nurse to Col. DesBarres in his boyhood days. O n one
occasion, when he was Governor of Prince Edwarrd Island, she paid hi m a visit.
He took her to Government House and showed her every kindness. Ther e were two
George Matattalls, who were brothers. George the elder had been a so ldier, and
after being absent in the wars, was given up for lost and, on his ret urn, he
found another member of the fmaily, born after his departure, who bor e the same
name. George the younger owned lot 30 West side the site of the pres ent
village. In 1790 one George Mattatall removed to River John." (p. 27)

Renon Wilkerson, Box 188, Mona, UT 84645 says her father was Levi Mat tatahl,
born about 1771 in Nova Scotia. He was married in 1799 in Tappanquis h, Nova
Scotia to Margaret Forlong according to Edith Lamb.
